I have installed Virtual-Box on my Mac-book Pro, and installed RedHat Linux as my first Guest OS. Everything installs fine, during install the system attaches to the network, and downloads everything from the network distribution servers etc, the install completes all the way through fine.
However:::
When I reboot it finds the drive, manages to boot via Grub, decompresses and loads the kernal, but never makes it past that point. I suspect the kernel cant find the drives.

any Ideas?
Installing Red Hat Linux Guest
Also on a Linux (Debian) Host
I have run into the exact same issue trying to run RHEL AS 4 on my desktop machine. I am running Debian Linux, and the installation worked appropriately. I am really not sure what other parameters to pass to the kernel to get it to boot the kernel. Any ideas?
Sorry I have to recant apparently after choosing the second option from the RHEL Grub option:
title Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS-up (2.6.9-55.EL)
root (hd0,0)
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.9-55.EL ro root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 rhgb quiet
initrd /initrd-2.6.9-55.EL.img
This image started appropriately. I hope this helps.
