Resizing MacOS Guest VM on MacOS Host - not working

Post by VivaLaRobo »

Hello, I've created a .vdi file which I've resized to 60GB using:

Code: Select all

vboxmanage modifyhd XYZ.vdi --rezise 60000
This works and it states the Capacity is now 60000 MBytes.

However it says the Size on disk is still 32694 MBytes.

Since this is a Mac VM on a Mac Host, how am I supposed to fix this? The only solution I can see is using GParted but this doesn't work on MacOS.

What's the current solution to resize VirtualBox MacOS VMs with MacOS as the Host & VM? When trying to resize through Disk Utility on the Host & the VM it just results in failures.

It's been quite some time that I tried this, but, take a look at "How to resize a Virtual Drive with HFS+".
