I am trying for couple of days to import ovf files to virtualbox, but the process keeps running for hours without any result. Did anyone face this issue ? Please help me with the issue !

Can you be a little bit more specific than that? What OVF files? Example needed. Also, can you create a new VM instead of importing an existing one?

As in... stuck? Do you have to kill it? What does the ActivityMonitor show?

Any chance of uninstalling Symantec?

I am trying to import Hortonworks Data Platform Sandbox v2.6.4, so don't have an option to create one.
While doing an import, I can see vboxSVC going to 100% CPU utilization. I even waited for an hour but there was no progress update on the progress bar, so had to kill the process.

Sorry Can't unistall symantec, this being official laptop.

I asked what happens if you try to create a new VM. You always have that option.

And I don't really know what "Hortonworks Data Platform Sandbox v2.6.4" is or isn't, so I can't know why it's failing. Is there a link for the OVF that we could try? Did you make sure that the download was appropriate? Was there a checksum that you could compare?

Talk to the "officials" about your antivirus, if it's an official laptop.

The OVF which I am using can be downloaded from https://downloads-hortonworks.akamaized ... 8_1428.ova
I already verified the md5 and its a match.

Seems there was some issue with the ovf file provided by the vendor, got the latest ova file from them and it got imported without any issues.
