enable VT-x for linux guest

Post by jango »

Hello,
I'm trying to run linux guest in order to play with minikube.
I'm getting error saying I need to enable VT-x in the BIOS
in VirtualBox system window I see that "VT-x/AMD-V" is enabled for that guest.
inside guest I'm getting this error:
"This computer doesn't have VT-X/AMD-v enabled. Enabling it in the BIOS is mandatory"

HOST: MAC OSX 10.13.3
GUEST: Ubuntu Server 16.04.3
virtualbox 5.2.6
I also tryed 5.1.32 (same error)

please help
Thanks

You can't pass the VT-x capabilities of the host to a guest.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.
