[Solved] Flash drive error message

Post by neodymium »

Anyone know what causes this and/or how to get around it?

I am trying to get a flash drive to work on a Windows 10 guest and it seems to throw an error message when I try.

Thank you and have a terrific day.
Failed to attach the USB device SanDisk Ultra Fit [0100] to the virtual machine MSEdge - Win10.

Failed to create a proxy device for the USB device. (Error: VERR_PDM_NO_USB_PORTS).

Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: ConsoleWrap
Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}

Please read the following thread: USB basics and troubleshooting, all of the posts. If you still have a problem after reading through the whole thing, please follow the advice of the last post.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

I think maybe USB 3.0 (xHCI) Controller setting might have fixed this.

Thank you and have a wonderful day.
