Vitirualbox Kernal

Virtualbox runs great on my imac until I reboot. When I start up Vb after a host reboot I get the alert that it will not start because "virtualbox kernel did not load"
I reinstall vb and it runs fine until the next time I reboot the host. I have read the manual twice and cannot find this issue. Any idea's? Thanks.
