Virtaul Box 5.1.26 r117224 (Qt5.6.2) is crashing on MAC after Sleep

Hi,

I use the Virtualbox since years without any problems on my MAC (now OSX 10.9.5)
Since the last upgrade, my Virtaulbox disappear (crash) after my PC coming (or going) in Sleep mode.
This is quite annoyant, I have to restart the Box each time I wake up my PC.
Any idea of how to solve this problem.

In order to better understand the problem you need to submit some more information. Please read the following: Minimum information needed for assistance.

Specifically for the VM log file ("VBox.log.zip"), here's what you do:

1. Start the VM. Not from a saved or paused state. Clean start.
2. Take the steps required to generate/observe the error. Record the error message. EXACTLY.
3. Shut down the VM (if it hasn't aborted by itself). Not saved or paused. Completely shut down. If you can't shut it down by normal means, close the VM window and select "Power off".
4. Right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager. Select "Show Log..."
5. Save it (only the first VBox.log), ZIP it and attach it to your response (see the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form).

I would also like to see the "recipe" of the VM, the ".vbox" file:

1. Right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager. Select "Show in Finder/Explorer/Whatever".
2. ZIP the selected ".vbox" file and attach it to your response.

Virtual box 5.1.26 r117224 (Qt5.6.2)
Starting from OS reboot 8h30 (GMT+2).
1. Open Virtual Box at 09h02
2. Working with Virtual box open (Widows XP) during +/- 3 hours
3. Stop working at 11h19
4. MAC Energy saving configuration
Display Sleep after 15 minutes
Computer Sleep after 1 hour
Put hard disk to sleep when possible
5. 14h45 Activate my MAC again (VirtualBox is gone)
6. See Log as attachement

I put a specific part of the instructions in bold and I underlined it. Yet, you managed to miss it. Let me see if you will remember it the next time, if I try something more pronounced:

Save it (only the first VBox.log), ZIP it and attach it to your response (see the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form).

You Guest Additions (GAs) have not been updated in a long, long time. Please update them. For WinXP, boot in safe mode by pressing F8 at the "BIOS" boot. Repeatedly if you have to "grab" it.

Is that how you solved it? That's not a solution I'm afraid, that's a workaround. A not really good workaround I'm afraid.

Your logs don't show anything out of the ordinary. My feeling is that it's OSX that it's killing the process and not VirtualBox that aborts. Any logs in OSX that might point to anything suspicious? Check "Console.app" and go through the logs at the sleep and wake times. Post anything that might remotely look like a relevant piece of information. ZIPPED of course

Well there is definitively and issue with 5.1.26, all previous versions are working.
I suppose that you are better placed than I to look at the differences between the versions.

Why would you say that? Did you assume that I'm a developer? No, I'm not. I'm a simple user, trying to help other users who want to help themselves. If the second part of my last sentence is invalid, then the first part is moot...

I should have possibly delayed my posting... I noticed the audio related messaged and disabled the audio device. So far the results are good but I need to give it more time to be certain. This will hopefully be helpful to others.

The audio part of VirtualBox is being reworked as we speak, so glitches are to be expected. Thanks for your feedback...
