Using (2) Different networks

Post by Stewpac »

I am having trouble figuring out this problem.

I have a Windows 10 virtual machine on a Macbook Pro, I use a Transcend JetDrive to store my virtual machine.

I get my internet via wifi on on my Macbook Pro and that is used as the first Network adapter.

I also have a USB to ethernet adapter to connect to an internal AMX control network (controller, touchpanel, and this laptop as well as a small network switch).

I tried to make that network as network 2 and that didn't seem to work, I then added the USB ethernet adapter under USB under Ports.

That seemed to work if I unplugged the USB and plugged it back in once I was logged into my Windows virtual machine.

I set my (2) devices to static as well as on my new network connection that appeared in Windows.

I tried to connect to the touchpanel to download some items and it would time out before it finished. I used CMD prompt to test the connection and it seems to drop.

Is there anyway to make this network connection more stable?

I should mention that I do not believe that is is the small network switch as the touchpanel has a unbroken connection to the controller.

If your VirtualBox is > 5.1.16, please open up Terminal and, while that USB adapter is plugged in, issue the command:
  • VBoxBugReport "<Your_VM_Name>"
A file named "YYYY-MM-DD-HH-mm-ss-bugreport.tgz" will be written to the directory that you were in, most probably your home directory (find out with the command 'pwd'). Attach that file you a new post (see the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form). That way we'll get notified, don't just simply edit your old posts.

We'll take it from there...
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.
