Stability Issue

Post by mart1 »

I have serious issues concerning the stability on a mac host. I m using leopard as host and Ubunutu 8.04 as guest.
I do some software devellopment with it using eclipse europa. The system crashes at least twice in 8 hours, most of the time more often... what can i do about it?

And the situation when the crash happened was? Using what software on Ubuntu? Using shared folders?

it randomly occurs when working with eclipse, but also happened while browsing with eclipse open or working with squirel. shared folders is on. will it probably stabilize the system turning off shared folders?

I'm not using Eclipse, so I can't say for sure, I never really used Linux with X on it extensively, but I never saw a plain crash while I was using Xubuntu with gvim, firefox etc.

Although, when it comes to shared folders, I certainly had great moments...

You might want to try turning it off and see if it helps.

NFS or plain old rsync is probably more stable at the current 1.6.2 release.
