now BT was USB help please

Post by angus »

so I've figured out that I have to make sure mac os has no awareness of my phone or its sd card for XP to be able to access it

so now I'm having the same problem with bluetooth, only I can't figure out how to make the mac "let go" of bluetooth.
I have bt turned off
I have all the checboxes set to off
I get the same kind of error message as below when vbox tries to take control of the bt from the USB device list bottom right
even if its switched off it seems to still have it active

how do I get mac os to release control of the bt hardware?

thanks

hello, I am a very new user, tring to get things working. Windows XP on Mac OS X 10.5.
I have followed directions posted here already, thanks they've been helpful.

However, when I select certain USB devices (like my phone) from the list, Windows tells me that the device is in use by someone else.

Guest additions are installed and I have created the filters.

Your help is greatly appreciated!
thanks.

Hello,

I'm having the same problem that you had. How did you make it so that OS X wouldn't recognize your phone so your VirtualBox run OS could capture it?

Thanks!

I had to experiment a lot with the order in which I plug in the phone and start the virtual machine - I have problems making it work the way I think it should so I don't use it much. Make sure to eject the phone in mac os before starting the vm.
good luck.
