problem with VMM device after updating to V.5.1.8

Post by MichaelJF2 »

Hello,
I have a MacBookPro with VM for Windows.
after VM update v.5.1.18 I'm getting a system maintenance warning (Windows 7) that says "download updates to solve a problem with virtual box VMM Device".
Windows 7 is opening but one of my applications reports an error.

Is there a way to fix this or is another update coming soon?
Thanks,
Michael

Where do you expect the fix or update to come from? Have you checked for updates on the Windows 7 vm? It is a Windows warning.

Hello Bill, thanks for replying.
I've been using Virtual Box on my MacBook for 4 years or so, and regularly updating to current versions. Twice in 4 years I had some conflicts/errors and got them fixed through the nice people on this forum., usually a bug-fix in the next VB software updates.

Windows 7 gave me the above error messaage after I installed this latest update of VB from the Oracle VM Virtual Box Manager - after i opened one of my programs called Sitebuilder (yahoo web hosting). However, it (Windows 7) does not download any updates- an error message says its not available at this time.
Windows 7 error message data stated "Driver software installation - could not find driver software and "Scripted Diagnostics Native Host - PNP Driver Not found".

Is there a problem with the latest VB update that I just downloaded?
Thanks for your patience & help
Michael

If you're using NAT with VirtualBox 5.1.8, please see viewtopic.php?f=6&t=80310
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
