Settings to get the Windows 10 Anniversary Update?
I have Windows 10 Enterprise 1511 64 bit installed in a VM that has over 30G of free disk space -- but it's not seeing the Anniversary update in Windows Update still (running VB 5.1.4)
Are there any special settings on the VM that I might not have toggled that would make this appear? I've seen the Anniversary update on other hard-iron machines here, but not the VM and I'm wondering if I'm missing something obvious in the settings for the VM that would be keeping this from showing in Windows Update.
Thanks!

I would guess that you have "Defer feature updates" set. You can Google for a direct update link.
And no, a VM is just a PC like any other. It can't do anything which would affect how Windows Update works, unless you block internet access entirely.

The problem is you can't "update now" if you are running Enterprise -- that only works for personal versions of Windows 10...
And "Defer Upgrades" is *not* checked...

If I can do a search, I bet you could as well…

Just to add, based on what I've read, there is no Anniversary update for Windows 10 Enterprise as of yet.

Re: Settings to get the Windows 10 Anniversary Update?
Not the case -- my "hard-iron" machines are running Enterprise have 1607 already (the update from 1511 was presented in Windows Update). This is why I asked about my VB images...

There's no difference in updating a VM vs a hardware install as far as I've ever noticed. So therefor I don't know the answer.

Re: Settings to get the Windows 10 Anniversary Update?
I agree with Lou. I can't think of any setting in VirtualBox which could make any difference to how the guest OS handles updates or upgrades. I also agree that Enterprise is different. There are heaps of questions about upgrading Enterprise in the TechNet forums.

I ended up just upgrading from the new Enterprise .iso -- that worked fine.
