NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005) VB 5.0.20 Win7 on OS X 10.10.5

Post by IvanHerrera »

Hi Team!
I need your help please.

I'm running VirtualBox Graphical User Interface (Version 5.0.20 r106931)
Host: OS X Yosemite 10.10.5
Guest: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 English

USB ports from Mac hardware are not working for Windows Virtual Machine, I'm getting the error below when I check the USB Ports Settings at Virtual Box:

Failed to attach the USB device Apple Inc. Bluetooth USB Host Controller [0042] to the virtual machine Win7.
USB device 'Apple Inc. Bluetooth USB Host Controller' with UUID {32820a87-016c-4185-ae98-a88517f83a51} is in use by someone else.

Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: HostUSBDeviceWrap
Interface: IHostUSBDevice {c19073dd-cc7b-431b-98b2-951fda8eab89}
Callee: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}

How can this error be fixed?

Thank you in advance and best regards!

The Bluetooth interface on the Mac is not easy to capture. There have been some attempts (I think up to 10.9, I don't remember any attempt in 10.10) that have been successful. The problem is that you have to disable some kernel extensions which take over the USB/Bluetooth interface at boot. I don't have 10.10 so I can't try any of the "recipes". Try a Google search for "Mac Bluetooth site:forums.virtualbox.org" and see if any of the solutions in there can help you. I'll update the post later in the afternoon if I find something.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.
