Running VM created on Windows from within Mac OS
Is it possible to create a Windows VM on the Windows version of VirtualBox and move that VM files (.vbox and .vdi files) to the Mac OS and run it using the Mac version of VirtualBox?

Yes I believe so, within limits. Obviously resources that you make available on one host (a host CD drive, network share, bridged network adapter etc) may not be available on the other host. But, such errors are easy to fix.
