I am trying to switch from Parallels to VirtualBox, but one last issue.
In Parallels 9.0 my Pioneer BDR-XD05 USB Bluray drive worked without issue. In VirtualBox I am having trouble getting it to connect and read a CD/DVD/Bluray.
In 4.3.8 if I host the drive without passthrough the drive is visible to windows as a VirtualBox CD drive, but won't read my discs. I tried passthrough, but the drive will not show up as the drive isn't recognized by Win7 64bit. To accomplish this I selected passthrough and then selected the device from the USB list to connect to virtual box. I could not find any windows drivers and was unable to try and force a drive install for the device.
In 5.0.0 RC 2 the drive initially loaded as a BDRE device but when I tried to read a disc it hung. When I then tried to connect the USB device to virtual box I was given the error:
Failed to create a proxy device for the USB device. (error: VERR_PDM_NO_USB_PORTS)...
If I can't get DVD RW capability with my drive, then I will have to go back to Parallels. I appreciate any insight or help.
