I'm new to virtualbox, but am wondering if I need to reformat my hardrive after removing my guest OS (windows xp) from my host mac os x. When I installed windows, it prompted me to format using NTFS, FAT32, etc. I chose NTFS. Do I need to do anything to reformat my drive after removing my guest os windows xp in order to reclaim that hard drive space for my mac os x?

Since the VirtualDisk is stored in a file and not in a partition on your host system, it is enough to delete the file and the space will be available for your Mac OS again.

Ensure that the VirtualDisk is deleted in the Virtual Disk Manager (through File-menu).
