Clipboard copy of what?
Clipboard copy will work fine, if the GAs are installed in the guest, and you copy memory text or pictures. You can't copy files, nor specialist clipboard formats (e.g. Excel objects).

Thank you for the reply
Just plain text does not work
not sure how to access clipboard from vi text editor ( to paste)
All I wanted was to cut & paste few files to one of the VM (see attached screenshots)
It shows something is on clipboard (see2nd screenshot attached) but paste option does not bring anything

Re: Cipboard copy does NOT work - with Bidrectional cipboa
As mpack explained, you cannot copy and paste FILES between host and guest or guest and host. You can only copy and paste text selections/clippings or image selections/clippings.spereira wrote: All I wanted was to cut & paste few files to one of the VM (see attached screenshots)
If you want to copy files between a host and guest you need to use shared folders.
OSX, Linux and Windows Hosts & Guests
There are three groups of people. Those that can count and those that can't.

See the user manual - or just see the VM settings, it should be easily understood.
Re: Cipboard copy does NOT work - with Bidrectional cipboa
Sorry, I can create a share from the GUI (vritalbox) , but how to map in linux not documented the steps
so Unable to do anythng with software - for accessing outside VM or mapping a drive/folder, it is 'isolated' from the network
not much can be done

The guest must have the guest additions installed for shared folders to work.
Then you need to mount the shared folder in the guest.
Have you looked at the VirtualBox users manual yet in the section that talks about shared folders?
