I'm new at this.....
I made a VM on my Mac Pro (2008 version) and installed Windows XP SP3 (with a slipstreamed installation disk); worked fine, and I installed a few "standard" programs. All was well.
Then I installed the drivers and hardware for an HP 8460 USB scanner.
This went very well - or so I thought. I had to reboot the VM a few times during the software installation, but each time it rebooted fine.
And, the scanner worked like a champ when I tested it.
Then, I shutdown the VM (with Windows shutdown from the Windows start menu) and rebooted the Mac.
That was it - the VM won't start. It says "Virtual Kernel Driver not installed. VB Status Code 1908 (VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED)"
Result code - 0X80004005
Component: console
Interface: Iconsole
Any clues???
Thanks!
Tried USB device, now VM won't start
In this thread someone is having the same problem:

It only seems to occur on a Mac Pro. Here's another one:

You could try to reboot your machine or do as described in the second post of the latter link.
