Does sound work in 1.6?

Hi just installed 1.6 and am pleased with the USB working and the shared folder too!
I have no sound though, XP tells me there is no sound device/hardware. I've checked the box in the VB control panel...

Any suggestions or is it broken?

I'm using OSX 10.5.2 on an aluminium iMac

OK - sound playback is now working - I changed options from AC97 to SB16 and then back again and that did it... but I can't record. Is recording still non functional?

As you can borrow from the introduction page of the installer, audio input is still not implemented in the Mac-Version.

What if I use an external USB-soundcard? In that case recording should work, right? I guess it's only the internal-recording...
