Hello,
I have just switched from Parallels Desktop to Virtualbox (4.3.14) as a virtual machine system and am quite happy with that decision. So far I have only come across one problem:
I have to copy and paste texts from a database on the Mac Host to a database on the Windows Guest (Windows 7 Prof 64bit) on a daily basis (no import/export function available).
When copying on the Mac Host I use the short key command + c, when pasting it in Windows on Paralells I used to be able to paste using command + v (Mac keyboard).
Now I can still copy on Mac using the Mac command + c, but when pasting it in the program on the Windows guest system I have to use the Windows short key command ctrl + v.
This is seriously slowing down the whole process of copying/ pasting and is giving me a real headache and cramp in my hand when needing to repeat it for up to 100 and more times, I guess because I am missing the needed pianist training for it.
I am quite confident the you can change the keyboard of the guest system somehow from Windows key-assignment to Mac or redefine the short-cut command for "paste" in Windows, but I don't know how.
Thank you very much for your help.

You could do it easily with a key remap program, or if you're confident enough you could edit the registry yourself (search for "windows remap keys"). I've used two freeware programs myself, "SharpKeys" and "KeyTweak". Both are simple enough and do exactly what you want.

Thank you very much for your answer.
I have had a look at the two programs, but as far as I understand you can only remap single keys with them, but not a key combo (as ctrl+c/ ctrl+v to cmd+c/ cmd+v), but maybe I am wrong (?).
I still don't know what to do.

Yes, a single key is the main idea. You map Left-Cmd (or Left-Windows according to SharpKeys) to Left-Ctrl and vice versa (Left-Ctrl to Left-Cmd). Here's a simple screenshot with SharpKeys:
One key thing I forgot to mention. You would need to change the default "Host key" for VirtualBox on your Mac to something else that the default Left-Cmd. I usually prefer Right-Opt.

Sharpe Keys & keytweak do not work.
It lets you change it, however it only works in the OS, but does not work in apps such as outlook, word, etc. So, it is pointless.
VirtualBox need to build this feature in to their VM it is ridiculous they have not.

Obviously it does work according to the posts above yours.
as far as your statement…

VirtualBox has no VM to build it into and apparently thousands if not tens of thousands of users have managed without it.VirtualBox need to build this feature in to their VM it is ridiculous they have not.
