Windows 8.1 Pro Hyper-V issue
Posted: 21. Apr 2014, 19:22
I am running Virtual Box 4.3.10 r93012 on a MacBook Pro:
MacBook Pro Retina, Mid 2012
Processor: 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
OS X: 10.9.2
VM:
Windows 8.1 Pro (64 bit)
Memory: 8GB
Hardware Virtualization:
[X] Enable VT-X/AMD-V
[X] Enabled Nested Paging
I have Visual Studio 2013 running.
When I attempt to install the Windows Phone 8.1 Emulators, I get an error:
This computer does not support the Windows Phone emulator, which requires the 64-bit edition of Windows 8.1 Pro and a computer that supports Hyper-V.
Bringing up the Windows Control Panel / Programs and Features, and clicking the Turn Windows features on or off - the Hyper-V Platform is disabled and shows:
"Hyper-V cannot be installed: The processor does not have required virtualization capabilities."
How can I enable the Hyper-V in the Windows 8.1 Pro VM? Is it possible to do when running from an OS X host?
Thanks,
Don
