I am using a MacBook Pro.
Built a VM using basic configuration:
Windows7 (64bit)
Base memory 512MB
Video memory 16MB
I am running a VBA/Macro rich Excel file and its performance is slow. Anything I can do to increase the speed of processing?
Thank you
Slowwww performance

Re: Slowwww performance
Increase the base memory. Reduce the number of CPUs to 1. Enable VT-x. Pet a black cat at midnight. Chant verses from the Necronomicon. Offer your soul to Lucifer.
A simpler idea may be to post a zipped copy of the VBox log file to help with the diagnosis of the problem.

Re: Slowwww performance
Thanks;
I doubled the memory from 512 to 1G, with very small improvement.
The mouse seems to scroll slow;
The other 2 settings you indicated are there already.
For logs, are these the logs available under MACHINE> SHOW LOG ?
Thanks

Yes. The most recent one will be called VBox.log, then the next most recent VBox.log.1, etc. Make sure you select the whole log not just part of it. You'll need to compress it as a zip file before posting it and add it as an attachment, don't paste the log into the body of your reply.AMT7565 wrote:For logs, are these the logs available under MACHINE> SHOW LOG ?
Re: Slowwww performance
So I installed the guest additions and that seems to have fixed the issue. Resolution is great and so has the performance. It's like magic!
Thanks rpmurray.

Ah yes, I keep forgetting that most people don't read the manual first. Completely slipped my mind to ask if you'd done the obvious.
