display problems with remote display

I'm trying to use CoRD to connect to an Ubuntu (Feisty) instance running under 1.3.99-beta1 in OS X 10.4.9.

The mouse input is working fine, but the display contains several really large black squares over it and never opens.

Anyone have any better luck with this?

Try the Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection software; this one has been tested with VirtualBox.

We were not aware of the CoRD client and will have a look at it when time permits.

MS RDC doesn't do as well as CoRD. It starts to connect, begins to paint (I can see the background color briefly) and then tells me it can't connect.
