Connecting to the Internet With Vista (Alternatives)
I'm having alot of trouble connecting to the internet running Vista in VirtualBox. I understand that one has to use windows guest applications but I can't seem to find these in fact, I don't really know what they are. I really don't need to connect wirelessly so if using a cat-5 to connect is easier please let me know. Any help on how to use the windows quest applications or connect to internet in any other manner would be greatly appreciated and please bear with me as I am not at all computer savy. Thanks.
In order to install the Guest Additions you just have to choose "Devices->Install Guest Additions" from the menu when your Machine is running. An installer will pop up which leads you through the installation.
If you enabled at least one network adapter in "Settings->Network" and chose "Attached to: NAT", networking should work fine after you startet your VirtualMachine. Note that your VM needs to be stopped when you want to change something in the settings-dialog.
