Hy everybody,
I have installed virual box on my mac osX and am running a virutal XP machine.
My question is, does virualbox save the actual state of the virtual machine when I am shutting down my virutal machine. (It´s because when I am trying something out then it would be good if the changings would not be saved)

silly question form a newbie
The VirtualMachine behaves like a real PC. So of course changes are saved on your virtual hard disk. Therefore everything you changed in your XP will still be there when you restart your VM.
If you want to get back to a specific state of the machine, you can use the Snapshot-Feature of VirtualBox, this enables you to revert changes to a point of your choice at any time.
If you want to know how to use this feature, read chapter 3.4.4 of the VirtualBox Manual.
