VirtualBox VM crashes on switch to FullScreen

Has anyone else experienced this? It doesn't happen after the VM has been started up normally - Fullscreen works fine in this situation. It appears to only occur after the VM has been paused (saving the state) and then resumed later. When Cmd-F is pressed, the screen goes black for about 5-10 seconds, then the VM aborts.

I am running OS X 10.7.3 and VirtualBox 4.1.8 r75467.

You probably need more memory for the display (VM settings | Display | Video Memory). At the very least make sure that VirtualBox isn't giving warnings about low memory in this field.

I would be interested in knowing what guests are actually causing the problem and if they are using Gnome3 desktops.

Hi mpack,

Thanks for the tip. I had given the VM 64Mb of display memory, so I tried increasing it to 128Mb (the maximum) - no difference - problem still occurs. It wasn't giving any errors about low memory before I changed it. I have also confirmed that it only happens after the VM has been suspended and then resumed later on. When it is freshly booted up, Fullscreen works fine.

Perryg - the Guest OS in this case is Windows 7 Ultimate.

Any news regarding this issue? The exact same thing happens to me.
Is it added to the bug tracker already? If so, how do I keep track of it??

Yes, a ticket was raised - here. If you intend to add to the ticket then do not forget to add a zipped log file of a failed VM session. The log file "VBox.log" can be found in the "Logs" subfolder of the VM folder.
