Hi All -
I am running Windows 7 in VB version 4.1.2 on a Mac OS X host.
I am a newbie to VB and not a tech-savvy person, so I'm hoping someone can help me with the following problem. The data management application I was running in Windows was working fine, but I think I asked too much of it and it froze. I hard-rebooted my computer, and when I started Windows in VB it gets stuck in an endless reboot cycle, a black screen with "windows loading files" flashes twice, and then the Oracle logo. I found one description of a similar issue on another site, but I couldn't really understand it. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Dana

Re: Windows 7 reboot loop
Just when the boot splash with the Oracle logo fades, press F8 several times until you get a menu. In there, let it start without automatic restart on system failure. Post the result of what you see there, make a screenshot of it if needed.
You may have to change your Mac keyboard settings to not use the multimedia part by default for F8 to work properly.

Re: Windows 7 reboot loop
Windows has a setting to prevent the "boot loop", after you get in via the F8 trick.
- Start
---> Control Panel
---> System and Security
---> System
---> Advanced system settings (W7: sidebar on left)
in the "Startup and Recovery" section, push button Settings
in the "System failure" section, uncheck Automatic restart
then OK

Hold down the "fn" key while pressing F8 or go into the keyboard settings for your Mac and enable use all F!,F2 keys as normal function keys.
