Network adapter problem on Win 7

Post by steveo2 »

I am trying to run Windows 7 32 bit in VB on my new Macbook Pro 13" early 2011.
Windows 7 boots up okay but it cannot find a driver for the network adapter. I have installed the extension pack and the guest additions it still cannot find a driver on the system. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

Setup Intel E 1000 in the guest settings. The driver can be downloaded from the intel homepage.

Thanks Stefan,
That pointed me in the right direction. Here is exactly what I did in case it can help someone else;
In the Virtualbox Manager , without the Windows 7 VM running, click on Network then click on Advanced.
Change the Adapter type to Intel Pro/1000 MT Desktop (82540EM).
Restart the VM and it should work.

That will certainly work, but I can't think why it was set to anything else in the first place. That is the default setting.
