Ubuntu 9.10 and OpenGL - kernel panic(?)

Hello!

When I try to run Ubuntu 9.10 (Netbook Remix) with 3D acceleration enabled, my computer will freeze up. Not just the VM, the whole computer, forcing me to reboot. After a while the kernel panic message will popup telling me to do so.

This only happens when 3D acceleration is enabled, not otherwise. The error report after the reboot seems to indicate some kind of problem with the NVIDIA driver or so.

My computer is a MacBook Pro, 13", 9400M running 10.5.8.

How can I fix this?

Thanks!

I didn't think that 3D acceleration was supposed to work on a Linux vm. Is that incorrect?

It seems you're another user with 3D issues on Mac OS. No solution as of yet. You might want to check the Bugtracker (separate account needed) for a bug report and add your system to it.

Might want to check out Chapter 13 of the users manual. Known limitations.
There are still issues with OpenGL and MACs
