Postby eu0741924381 » 28. Sep 2009, 18:11

I have i small question..

My wireless card is a ralink rt61 pci... and does now show up in system profiler...

Is there any way that i can share it to VirtualBox by device id or something?

AFAIK there are no ways to share PCI devices. Does the guest not see the network adapter? Maybe you should tell us how you are trying to connect to the network and then we can see what the problem might be.

I am trying to connect to a wireless network via a wireless card witch is pci.. the card is Ralink Rt61 and ralink does not offer drivers for intel cpu based computers , only ppc.. so i am trying to use it on a virtual machine runing Windows XP... But in VirtualBox i see no option for sharing Pci cards , only usb and serial ports...

Look in the network settings for the guest in the VBox GUI.
You do not load the device because VBox uses a virtual network adapter to connect to your host adapter.
Select NAT and the host adapter should pop in and you can use it.

Then it won't work as pci devices can't be passed on to a Guest, you might consider a usb-lan converter.

Let me guess, you're running hackingtosh OS? Sorry, but we can't really support that. Host hardware issues are not discussed here, you need a more specialized forum for that. We only discus how to get things going with VB and VB only allows USB device passthrough, not PCI.
