Error when moving images (vdi-files)

I have Ubuntu Feisty installed in VBox on an iMac, and it is working like a charm. However, I want to use this install on several machines in a classroom-rollout kind of way, so I am testing now an installation of VBox on another similar machine with OSX, and try to run the vdi-file from the original machine. (I copy the entire ~/Library/VirtualBox directory to the new machine after installing VBox). This does not work. When starting the vm, I get the error: Unknown error initializing kernel driver (VERR_GENERAL_FAILURE) VBox status coder -1 (VERR_GENERAL_FAILURE)

Result code: 0x80004005
Components: Console
Interface: IConsole {1dea5c4b-0753-4193-b909-22330f64ec45}

Shouldn't this work? Anyone have any good advice?

Sounds like VirtualBox was not installed correctly on the other machines. The kernel extension is not working right.
