I just installed Windows 7 on my MacBook and need to increase the resolution to widescreen. The screen resolutions shows maximum as 1024x768. I have installed Guest Additons and rebooted.
Any ideas ??

Re: Windows 7 Screen resolution (MacBook)
Did you check to see if Auto-resize Guest Display is check-marked in the Machine menu?

Re: Windows 7 Screen resolution (MacBook)
I am having the same problem, except that my highest resolution is 2560 x 1024. I have installed the GA but I just don't get the 1280 x 800 option no matter what. Any suggestions????

Re: Windows 7 Screen resolution (MacBook)
Issue resolved: I restarted my MacBook and made sure that "Auto-resize Guest display" is checked.

Re: Windows 7 Screen resolution (MacBook)
Did you install the guest additions?
Are you sure you did?
Did you read the all of the thread as well as similar threads?
Sorry if I sound like something of a broken record, but there should be no reason for you not to get full screen, especially with a well tested guest such as Windows 7. If you still have problems, please read the following: Minimum information needed for assistance. As far as the "VBox.log.zip" goes, here's what you do:
- Start the VM.
- Observe the error.
- Shut down the VM. Not pause, not save, full shut down.
- Right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager.
- Select "Show Log..."
- Save it, ZIP it and attach it in your response.
