Shared Folder: Rights Management ?

Post by cyphertc »

Hi folks, sorry for the extra-topic, but it doesn't quite match the first one.

After some issues I finally managed to set up a shared folder (Ubuntu 6.06 guest / os x 10.4.10 host). But although I created the mount-point-folder as user, whenever mounted, the folder is read-only for the user. sudo chown <user> <folder> / sudo chmod 777 <folder> do not change this (but do neither return error messages).
how do I make the user owner (or at least the rw-right-owner of the shared folder?

Sorry, if I should be wrong. I'm using Ubuntu 7.10 as host and XP as guest. VB creates a group Vboxuser. The actual user has to be member of that group.
