VPN Connectivity Issues, XP/VirtualBox

Post by cwho1st »

I installed Windows XP (SP 3) as a guest OS on Mac OSX 10.5.7 host. I am running VirtualBox 2.2.2.

I used a bridged adaptor network setting to establish internet connectivity. No problems here.

Next, I logged into my company's VPN (Cisco VPN Client 4.9.01) from Mac OSX. When I go back to Windows XP VM, I no longer have connectivity. Running a ipconfig command indicates that XP VM is still using the ISP provided network settings. Changing these settings to match what is available from the VPN client settings did not help either. Connecting to VPN first before starting the XP VM also did not help.

I was able to establish both Internet and VPN connectivity using NAT network setting without problems though.

Any ideas on how to establish VPN connectivity using bridged adaptor? The application (Avaya Softhphone v5) I am running does not run using the NAT setting.

Thanks!
