Update to 2.2.2

[Redmontage]

I am running Leopard on a Mac Pro.

Can I update to v 2.2.2 without losing my current Virtual Machine (Win XP)?
Does installing the new .dmg file recognize I have a previous install of a VM?
Should I uninstall the old version then install 2.2.2?

I guess this is three ways of asking the same question : )
