Hi all,
I'm a developer and I'm a new mac user.
I'd like to create a development environment on my mac book and I've already installed Netbeans + svn... on mac osx.
to have a DB, I've installed virtualbox 2.2.2 and created a virtualMachine with Ubuntu 8.04 as guest + Oracle XE.
The trouble is that I do not know how to enable the network connections in order to connect to oracle DB from an application running on the mac(the application beeing developed, an app server, SQL Developer/TOAD ...)
can you help me please?
can you also give as much details as possible?
I took a look at some posts concerning network config but they were not applicable to my use case.
many thanks!
Michael.

Bridge mode or Host-only.

I've tried the bridge mode BUT it does not work... my params are probably incorrect!
can you explain me how to do this please?(running example?)
thank you,
Michael.
