I'm running Virtualbox 2.2.2 on Mac OS X 10.5 64 Bit (Macbook; Intel DualCore; 2GB Ram). Currently i'm trying to install a ubuntu server 8.10 32bit. The installaton process runs fine. After the reboot of the VirtualBox I get an error message, that my processor does not support "pae":
Code: Select all
This kernel requires the following features not present on the CPU:
pae
Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.
But I definitly need a 32bit version.
I tried an evaluation copy of "Parallels Desktop". This runs fine with ubuntu server 8.10 32bit. But Parallels is not able to run on Windows and Linux Hosts like VirtualBox does.
Does anyone has an idea, why the 32bit version does not work? Are there any solutions?
