How to reconnect new VM to old snapshots?

How to reconnect new VM to old snapshots?

I was curios about how to reconnect snapshots to new vm (old HD .vdi) (pointed to where my snapshot were before.
When you power vm down and then look at snapshots the screen is white event though I have them point to were I had them before.
