hey everyone, newbie here so please forgive any obvious things i overlook.

im running OS X on my new MBP and also want 2 run XP.

just wanted to know if VIrtualbox can VM from a bootcamp partition? like if i create the boot camp partition so i can run XP natively and then run the virtual machine from there, copying files between osx and xp like other VMs?

What you want to do is set VirtualBox up to use a raw disk. It was covered in this thread: http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=9223

Tip: if you're going to be running an NTFS partition for your Windows guest, you'll need to install MacFuse+NTFS-3g. This may be tricky if you don't know what you're doing, so you might be better off using FAT32 (although your max file size with fat32 is 2GB).
