I was using VirtualBox and my XP VM without issue yesterday, when I came in today and tried to fire it up VirtualBox fails with the following error, I have researched this extensively and have tried all the options that I came across to no avail. Any assistance that can be provided to get my VirtualBox install running again would be much appreciated.
The error received is:
VirtualBox - Critical Error
Failed to create the VirtualBox COM object.
The application will now terminate.
Callee RC: NS_ERROR_FACTORY_NOT_REGISTERED (0x80040154)
I do a sizable amount of management of our Windows systems from this XP VM, so again any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Shaun
PS. I have removed and reinstalled the application keeping my VDI folder intact, removed all pref files before the reinstall and still receive the error.

I saw this error once. What helped for me to fix it was:
I uninstalled VirtualBox.
I repaired the file permissions.
I installed the OS X 10.5.6 combo update from Apple.
I reinstalled VirtualBox,
and all was fine again.

hi guys,
I'm still in 2.0.6, since I've read some topics about issues with the 2.1.2 update (slow, etc...)
What about 2.1.4 ? Do you see imprvements in speed ?
