VBoxHeadless does not work
VBoxHeadless does not work
Anybody had any luck getting VBoxHeadless to work? When I execute VBoxHeadless it always says Invalid Machine. I execute this as root and it works fine using VBoxManage, but VBoxHeadless seems like it has a bug. I am using Mac OS X 10.5.6.
Re: VBoxHeadless does not work
Hi,
Found the same problem myself.
Dont login as root, if "root" did not create the virtual machine. Login with the user name that created the virtual machine.
No need to be root to run the command >>> VBoxHeadless -startvm xxxxx
Also,
nohup VBoxHeadless -startvm xxxx & (hit return a few times)
That line will start your virtual machine and let you closes the terminal window
Brian.

It sounds as if you created the VM using your root account so it is in the root account's .VirtualBox registry not your user account's.cs154 wrote: I execute this as root and it works fine using VBoxManage
