Ubuntu (32bit) on Mac OS X Server 10.5.6

Postby tomek » 16. Feb 2009, 12:16

Hello!

I have problems with accessing services (WWW, SSH) working on a guest system (Ubuntu) from network...

Network settings for VBox are: host interface (not NAT) wired connection.
According to this: http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?t=13926
I have changed driver to Intel PRO/1000 T Server but it hasn't solved the problem :(

The guest system (separate IP address) is "visible" by ping...
Firewall is disabled on host system...

For guest system:
I can successfully access Internet _from_ guest system (WWW/SSH, etc.)
The error while accessing from Internet is: "connection refused".

I can connect guest from host (by IP address) but only WWW works fine all the time...
For ssh is funny: I cannot connect from host to guest until I have logged directly into guest using VM console... Funny, Isn't it?
But,... After logging into guest system when I start ping command and ping host IP address... Something changes!
My WWW page working on host system becomes visible in the whole Internet!!!! moreover I can successfully log into host...

Who knows, what the hell happens?

For host system: any connection works perfect...

Any suggestion? Some privileges are not set properly? bug?
