when mic (audio input) will be supported

Post by martin5211 »

I've tested VirtualBox 2.1.2 on Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5.6) with the latest Guest Additions (ICH AC97).

Unfortunately, I felt a great deception discovering that any professional audio or voice communication software is useless on VirtualBox. Think on Windows Messenger that isn't well supported on Mac platform, I cannot use it inside VirtualBox on a XP guest machine (without audio conferencing, videoconferencing is like a silent film).

Put on hold usability for end users (for this purpose sadly will be better to use Parallels or VMware), Wavelab, Sony Vegas, any audio or video software that requires audio input isn't usable on VirtualBox.

I've read on another threads that isn't implemented audio input on the VirtualBox Mac version, this issue should matter, isn't it? I mean, urge to users to buy new hardware like USB adapters isn't a suitable solution, an appropriate scheme even a usb audio interface is cheap now, more talking about a "solid" opensource and commercial product. This lacking feature (maybe insignifcant for someone) put on check a very good product (I continue considering it as good but not a superb product, despite of everything).

Thank you for making this product incredible better everyday.

Best regards,
M.
