Having successfully set up XP Pro as a VM (with a new XP OEM CD), I then downloaded and installed SP2 from Microsofts' own site. This also seemed to be successful, as the Windows>Help>About screen reads: Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519:Service Pack 2).
However, I get the following error message when attempting to install subsequent XP updates (set to download automatically, install manually):
<Windows - Delayed Write Failed
Windows was unable to save all the data for the file C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download\7684fcdc5c1747eb53ef3c2d202add11\download\BIT25.tmp. The data has been lost. This error may be cause by a failure of your computer hardware or network.>
This error is repeated for several files in the update, and the remaining files fail to install.
How can I fix this problem, please?
