no matter what combo of network settings I use (ie, adapter type, attached to (eg NAT)), I cannot access the internet.
Host: Mac OSX Leopard
Guest: Windows XP3 (the same image created on a Windows Host machine, wherein networking worked)
taskbar network icon indicates connected, with IP of 10.0.2.15 (also tried giving it a static IP within my router's range)

reset OSX DNS to router, 192.168.1.1, and not the non-booted server's DNS
got internet access
(got the clue by looking at VB log, and noticed the server's DNS address)
now, got to figure out why guest is not seeing USB stick (even though guest settings include USB enabled)
