[Solved] newbie install CD read errror

Greetings

first time using xVM ,
i have an xp disc in cd drive

I started basic install the xp install stopped with and error.
setup cannot access the file: access.chm


can I skip this ? or do I need to drop back and punt.

I hate to say this, but this is almost certainly due to dirt or damage on your media, and nothing to do with VBox. Try cleaning your CD media. There are lots of internet articles on how to do this. When I installed my XP, I dd'ed it to an ISO on my hard disk and installed from that. Of course if you are getting read errors then the dd will fail as well.

I clicked skip and install seems to be working fine.

So you've not loaded the Access help files -- as I said a small scratch or dust mote probably caused read error on one of the sectors which make up the file. Good to see that you've got the install working.
