Installing Windows 7 Pre-Beta Build on Mac Virtual Box?

Post by hoopla_punta »

I wish to install Windows 7 in Virtual Box on my Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.5. I have a few queries on how to do so as this is my first time using VB.

1. Should I use a 32-Bit Version of 7 or a 64-Bit one?
2. How do I go about installing Windows 7 on the virtual machine?
3. Any other things (drivers/software) I should install to make it stable?

And I'm using one of those torrents, so it would most likely come out as a iso disk image (I think... please correct me if wrong)

Thanks a lot!

Thats a good Joke: "Pre Beta" and "made it stable" :)

Dont know if you have 64 Bit Mac OS and AMD VT is enabled. But i think 32 Bit is the better solution.

But dont expect to much. Its a pre Beta linke the name says, its not supported at the moment.

Use the search function, you will find several threads with windows 7 problems. At the moment there cant be any support for this.

It may work. If not, dont ask, delete the pre beta.

I tried it. It installed fine and runs ok. But Guest Additions cannot be installed because the OS is not yet supported. So, no network and no video card drivers.

Network may work with Intel e1000.
