Mac VM on Mac VirtualBox

Post by johnw »

Has anyone tried to do a Mac VM on a Macintosh Virtualbox?

I am interested due to having a Leopard laptop and still needing Tiger for some things. Would be great if anyone knew how to do this.

Oh I'd love to have this too.

But as far as I know Apple explicitly prohibits this in its license agreement.

That is, it is only allowed for some server version of leopard - but not for tiger and not for leopard client.

no, vmware can only (slowly) virtualize mac os x server on mac os x server hosts, and apple's hardware

The actual issue 24 of the german computermagazine c't describes on page 266 how to install Mac-OS-X Client as a guest under vmware. They use a little helper

to circumvent vmware restrictions on installing OS-X client. But one needs a full OS-X 10.5-DVD, not that one bundled with hardware. And everybody who wants to try this, should obtain c't issue 24, or that article, before trying this.
