I made the jump from an Intel MacBook Pro to the new M2 Max. I downloaded the developer beta of VB and am attempting to install a Windows 11 Pro iteration.
I ran into the "A Critical Error Has Occurred..." which suggested I post on the Community Forum and attach the log.
So, here it is! (the file was too big...so here is a link to the file: https://verticalkc-my.sharepoint.com/:u ... w?e=ekGq7z
Any suggestions?

Re: INSTALL ON M2 MAX MBP
Bad jump, unfortunately. See M1/M2 Mac 7.0 Beta Status. Modern OS's can't run.AscendJT wrote:I made the jump from an Intel MacBook Pro to the new M2 Max
Zipped logs will fit, btw, but in this case it won't help.
Re: INSTALL ON M2 MAX MBP
Thank you for pointing me to that post.
Just to make sure I understand that correctly:
Does that mean that Oracle has no plans to continue to develop VB to allow for M1/M2 hosts to run "modern OS" iterations such as Windows 11?
Or...
Does that mean that the current beta is not capable of the above?
Or...
Something else?
Thank you!

Re: INSTALL ON M2 MAX MBP
Yes. A forum guru got 32-bit XP going, that's the most modern we have heard of so far.AscendJT wrote:Does that mean that the current beta is not capable of the above?
This is unknown to us on the forum. My surmise is that the fact the devs even went there says the ultimate goal is to get modern OS's to work. Sometime around Virtualbox 9 or 10 maybe... Give 'em a decade or so.AscendJT wrote:Does that mean that Oracle has no plans to continue to develop VB to allow for M1/M2 hosts to run "modern OS" iterations such as Windows 11?

Re: INSTALL ON M2 MAX MBP
Just purchased Parallels, and it is running swimmingly.
Bummed as I have enjoyed using VirtualBox for years!
