Using VBox 7.0.6, Mac OSX 12.6.3 Monterye and Win 10.
Win 10, the guest, keeps telling that the ethernet cablle is not connected, which might indicate that the problem is not because of the guest setting.
I tried with NAT and NAT Network, without success.
As the manual mentions as the prefered Adapter Type, PCnet-Fast III is used.
Is there somewhere a file that lists the settings for an nternet connection on the guest.
I tried multiple variants, I must overlook something.
Thanks in advance
Paul Colin

Check under Advanced in the VM's Network settings, see if the "Cable Connected" checkbox is checked.Orka wrote:Win 10, the guest, keeps telling that the ethernet cablle is not connected,
Did you follow a list of vboxmanage commands? VirtualBox's New Machine Wizard sets up a Windows 10 VM with the Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop card. It could be that 10 may not have drivers for the really old PCnet-Fast III (I haven't tested this assertion myself, 10 very well might have PCnet drivers, but it's a really old card and 10 has drivers for the default Intel card for certain).Orka wrote:As the manual mentions as the prefered Adapter Type, PCnet-Fast III is used.

Re: Guest has no internet connection.
Thanks very much scottgus1
As the instructions described the PCnet-Fast III adapter as the easiest one, I did not look any deeper.
I switched to the Intel Pro/1000 MT and and the connection is shining now.
